Komodo Island is the NEW 7 Wonders of The World is a island located near the small Sunda Islands in Indonesia. The park includes the islands of Komodo territory, Brink Upadar, several smaller islands, and all in all it covers an area of 1817 square kilometers, of which 603 square kilometers on land. The park was established in 1980 to protect the local population of Komodo dragons. Then designation changed to protect other species of animals living in the fields, including marine species. island site created as a result of volcanic activity that occurred during Haaokne. within the park is home to some 4,000 residents. In 1991 UNESCO declared the park and World Heritage Site surroundings.
Komodo is a long island located between the islands Sumbawah Flores, along the tectonic reduction zone, extending between Sumatra and West New Guinea. Komodo is the largest island in the archipelago, and all in all it covers an area of 340 square kilometers. Because of volcanic origin, its topography is characterized by steep and rugged areas, a group of hills at an altitude of up to 600 feet from the north facing south dominates the landscape.
